Heidi Kaplan
Heidi Kaplan is honored to provide therapy to adults facing a variety of challenges, including OCD, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and attachment-related struggles. Her specializations in trauma, cognitive behavioral therapy (ERP and ACT), and Somatic Experiencing with Polyvagal Theory inform her warm approach, while tailoring care to each client’s unique history and needs. Heidi will collaborate with you while helping you develop a deeper understanding of your symptoms, your strengths, and how your therapeutic journey will work toward creating lasting change.
Heidi began her career as a Certified Child Life Specialist, counseling hospitalized pediatric patients and their families throughout the often harrowing medical experience. Her background also includes an adjunct faculty role in abnormal psychology, as well as work in the community behavioral health sphere before transitioning to a private practice setting. She often utilizes her experience and study of improvisational comedy in the treatment of social anxiety using evidence-based practices.
Heidi earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University and Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the International OCD Foundation, the Arizona Bereavement Alliance, and the Association of Child Life Professionals.
