Danielle McDowell

We are excited to welcome Danielle McDowell, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), to The Gateway Institute’s newest location in Denver, Colorado. As a specialist in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Danielle brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with clients to overcome the challenges of OCD and related anxiety disorders, making her a valuable addition to our team.

Danielle earned her Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on Family Systems from the University of Denver. She has extensive experience in various clinical settings, where she has provided therapy, clinical supervision, and crisis intervention. Danielle’s holistic approach allows her to connect with diverse clients at various stages in their lives, including children, adolescents, and adults, while offering a wide range of mental health services.

Danielle specializes in evidence-based treatments for OCD, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure Therapy (ET). She also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE/TF-CBT) into her practice. Her expertise extends to treating Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Social Anxiety, Trichotillomania (TTM), and other anxiety-related conditions.

At The Gateway Institute, Danielle brings a compassionate and personalized approach to each client she works with. Her extensive experience as a clinical consultant and supervisor, along with her ability to lead teams and provide individual supervision, equips her with the skills to support clients in achieving their mental health goals. Danielle’s use of diverse treatment modalities and her commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment undoubtedly benefit the clients she serves.
